Truck fire Wednesday at Assylinn

Boyle Fire and Rescue Service were called to a fire on Assylinn Road in the town tonight (Wednesday 9th)

The fully laden flat bodied truck caught fire shortly before 9pm.

The Fire Brigade were quickly on the scene but such were the contents of the truck, that it led to a high volume of smoke and fumes that took a number of hours to extinguish.

Fire fighters had to wear breathing apparatus to deal with the blaze.

There were no reported injuries.
