Water outage in Boyle due to ‘significant burst’

Uisce Éireann crews are working to repair a significant burst in Boyle and restore water services this evening (Wednesday).

The burst is affecting supply to homes and businesses in Boyle town, Elphin Street, Garrow and Brislagh and surrounding areas.

Uisce Éireann’s Ger Greally has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore a full water supply as quickly as possible.

He has said that typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.

It is reported traffic management systems will be in place during the repair time, and will be signposted as well.
