Boyle man leads team to All Ireland

Boyle man and ex Roscommon player David Casey was a happy camper Sunday evening.

His west Roscommon charges, St. Croan’s, had just qualified for an All Ireland Intermediate club final following their  0-14 to 2-7 win over Louth side Sean O’ Mahony’s in Kingspan Breffini Park.

A late free for O’Mahoneys failed to equalise the game, seeing the Roscommon side progress to the All Ireland final in Croke Park on St Valentines Day February 14th against Ardfert from Kerry.

Following the game David Casey was congratulated by ex Roscommon manager and Boyle resident Fergal O’ Donnell.

David went on to say he was “proud as hell” of his team who had “fought tooth and nail and never gave in”.

It’s now back to the training ground in Enfiled for St Croans as they get ready to win the ultimate crown in a little under three weeks time.
