Roscommon Drama Festival commences this evening Friday March 1st and runs until Saturday March 9th.
Sabina Higgins will open the Festival at the newly renovated Roscommon Arts Centre on Friday night.
She studied acting with Deirdre O’Connell and was one of the founding members of the Focus Theatre.
She maintained her involvement with Theatre and community arts, working with the world renowned Druid Theatre, An Taibhearc and other groups.
The Festival adjudicator is Padraic McIntyre, a native of Bailieboro, Co. Cavan who trained as an actor at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.
