Join artist Veronica O’Connor this Thursday May 1st at 2pm in King House to explore and contemplate a selection of the beautiful artworks from Boyle Civic Art Collection. Spaces are limited in this free event with pre registration required on 087 1444739.

Comedy Drama Ready ‘The Six Mary’s’ by Jean Farrell in King House on Wednesday May 14th at 2pm – Tickets €5. Contact phone: 0871444739. The Six Mary’s tells the story of six girls called Mary, over six decades of their lives. It is very funny and very true to life. The play has been greatly enjoyed by audiences all over Ireland. The Six Mary’s is written and narrated by Jean Farrell, with supporting actress/singer Catherine Gallagher.
Excerpts from diaries are interspersed with songs and soundtracks from the different eras. The audience is brought on a journey depicting the social history of the times: the comics, the catechism and the stork; the nuns, the processions and the gym slips; the hops, the hopes and the ‘big day’; the babies, the teenagers and reality. This journey of self-discovery is laced with one-liners guaranteed to make you laugh!
