INTERCLUBS – Hard luck to our Jimmy Bruen Shield team, captained by Cillian Doyle, who had a very narrow loss against a strong Co Sligo Golf Club team. This was the clubs return to this higher level of interclub golf competitions after an absence of some years and it was encouraging to see we could be competitive at this level against quality opposition.
RESULTS – 12 Hole Competitions – 13/6/24 1st Mark Feehan 28 points 2nd Jason Beirne 23, 3rd Lorcan Egan 23. The 2s club was won by Mark Feehan.
6/6/24 1st Lee McKillen 27 points, 2nd Killian Egan 24, 3rd Adam Daly 23. There was no 2s club winner.
18 Hole Vpar played on 8th/9th June – 1st Owen O’Donohoe 1 up, 2nd Martin Wynne 1 down, 3rd Lee McKillen 3 down.
FIXTURES – This coming Sunday, the 23rd of June ,is the date for the always keenly contested Men’s’ Presidents Prize. This years President is Terry Canning. The competition will be the traditional format of an 18 hole Strokeplay followed by a 9 hole playoff at 6pm for the top placed finishers. The presentation will take place in the clubhouse directly after the conclusion of the playoff. For the first time in several years there will be a draw for this competition, more details will follow during the week but the essentials of it are that the BRS booking system will be divided into 5 “zones” of times a player can book into and a draw will take place of the names within each zone.
There will also be a Presidents Scramble on the evening of Friday the 21st to which all club members are invited to attend.
The men’s Thursday evening 12 hole competitions continue.
VOLUNTEERS EVENING – There will be a a “volunteers evening” on Monday 17th at 7pm. Please bring some equipment as appropriate e.g shovel, brush, strimmer, hedge clipper.
