Opera, Chamber Music and Romanian Wine in King House

A special concert, in anticipation of International Women’s Day, will take place this Sunday, March 1st in King House, Boyle from 4pm.
An afternoon of Opera, Chamber Music and Romanian Wine will be hosted on the day and is sure to be another musical delight. In conjunction with the event, there will also be a special Mărțișor exhibition which is a traditional Romanian symbol of spring, renewal, and good fortune.
The concert will feature a number of distinguished performers who are no strangers to performing in the beautiful setting that is the drawing room of King House. On the day, Soprano Claudia Marinescu will be joined by mezzo-soprano Angela Ioana Gheorghiu.
Also performing will be Duo Anima featuring Andreea Banciu on viola and Aileen Cahill on piano, accompanied by Adrian Mantu on cello.
Tickets are now available by visiting www.visitkinghouse.ie. Tickets are priced €10 plus booking fee while a concession rate of €5 plus booking fee applies to OAP’s, students, and children.
This Sunday’s concert follows a capacity sell-out show featuring Kevin Burke, Dermot Byrne, Noriana Kennedy and Jim Murray, accompanied by acclaimed local musician John Carty following which the performers received a prolonged standing ovation.
Last Saturday’s concert was supported by Roscommon County Council, Music Network, The Arts and Heritage Councils, the Office of Public Works (OPW) and The Merrion Hotel, Dublin.
