Boyle GAA club weekly update

Roscommon GAA

There were mixed fortunes for our Boyle GAA representatives playing with their County teams on Sunday.

The Roscommon mens senior team were overpowered by Mayo in Dr. Hyde park on Sunday in the Connacht Championship semi final. Roscommon never got to the pitch of the game and it was a disappointing end to the season for them, losing on a scoreline of 0.13 to 1.16. Enda, Donie and Cian tried hard in the forward line, with Donie and Cian each scoring 3 points, but it just wasn’t to be. Thanks to the lads for representing the club so well throughout the year and we look forward to see them plying their trade in Division 1 next season.

The Roscommon Ladies Intermediate team overcame Wexford on Sunday on a scoreline of 1.15 to 2.09 to bolster their chances of reaching the semi-finals. Congratulations to the Boyle contingent of Róisín, Sinéad, Kate, Saoirse and Gary. Sinéad got a rasper of a goal early in the game, which is doing the rounds on social media, and it very much put Roscommon on the road to victory. They now face Offaly in their final group game next Sunday where a win will see them through to the semi finals of the Intermediate championship.
