The McGovern Directional Drilling team played their first game of the Division 1 league on Sunday in front of a large crowd in the abbey park.
The final score today was Boyle 3-10 St.Brigids 3-11. A good performance overall but one that we feel we should have taken something from. If we play like this for the rest of the league we should have no problem staying up. Best for Boyle were Cillian Cox, Sean Purcell, Roch Hanmore, Enda Smith and Darren O Connor. The team now have a 4 week break until the next game. Thanks to Junior, Vinnie, Stephen Tonra and Martin Purcell for managing the team for the game in the absence of a managerial appointee. Thanks are extended to Barry and his team for the fine food provided after the game to both teams.
Congratulations are extended to Sean Purcell who collected his Roscommon Herald/ Supervalu Sports Star of the Month Award in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon on Friday night last.
