There was a large turnout for the Captain’s Drive In last Sunday with Captain Padraig O’Connell opening the new Golfing Year. The Scramble that followed was won by Michael Simon, Regina McLoughlin & Mick Moran, 2nd Aisling Gaughran, Gerry Carty, Michael Rush & Seamus Gallagher, 3rd Gary Carty, Lionel Lynn & Owen Garvin.
At the presentation, Captain Padraig O’Connell thanked everyone for attending and congratulated the prize-winners. He specially thanked Charlie, Willie & Michael for the great condition of the course and also thanked all the volunteers including Lionel & Liam Competition Secretary Michael Rush was thanked for organising the competition and Mary was thanked for her excellent hospitality both before and after the drive in. The house committee were thanked for organising the bar. A special presentation on behalf of the club was made to Pat & Mary Conroy for their 40th Wedding Anniversary.
The Spring League draw details are on the notice board. First round to be played between Wednesday 5th and Sunday 9th. Format is a three ball scramble. The weekly nine hole can be played Monday – Sunday.
Details of a new club foursomes matchplay trophy competition are on the noticeboard. Draw will take place on March 23rd. Games commence from April 1st. Teams will consist of a low and high handicap.
The Spring Royals trip to Headford takes place this coming weekend. Thanks to Terry & Tom for arranging
