Boyle men to cycle Mizen to Malin

Thursday morning 18th saw six Boyle men head off on a major personal challenge when they cycle from Mizen Head in Cork to Malin Head in Donegal over a period of four days.

Enda Madden, Eddie Conroy, Brian McMahon, Seanie Brennan, Martin Lannon and Brian Nerney will depart from Mizen Head on Thursday morning with stage one bringing the riders to Killarney, a distance of 120k that takes in the infamous climb of Molls Gap.

Stage two on Friday will be the longest of the trip, 180k from Killarney to Birr.

On Saturday, the Boyle six will leave Birr peddling the 160k to Enniskillen in Co Fermanagh.

Sunday -the last day of the cycle is the final leg from Enniskillen to Malin Head, a mere 135k.

The total distance over the four days is approximately 600 kilometers.

The cycle is not a fundraising venture but a personal challenge for the six riders.

Back up support is being provided by another Curlieu Wheelers member Oliver Donagher.

The challenge would not have been possible without the support of Cooney Motors, Gary Cycles and Boyletoday.com to whom the riders extend their gratitude.

You can follow the trials and tribulations of the riders in a special daily blog here on Boyletoday.com penned by the capable hand of one of the riders, Eddie Conroy.
