A bus left Boyle at 12.45 p.m. this afternoon from the Crescent, among other venues, to travel to the monthly meeting of Roscommon County Council to protest at the state of water services in the county. It has been reported that only approximately 30 people turned out for the protest. Despite an assurance that an upgrade of the local water treatment plant will take place,a boil water notice remains in force in the town and surrounding areas.
