A young Boyle man and his brother are making a name for themselves on the rowing circuit.
Thomas Sheridan from The Marina, Deerpark in Boyle is a member of Sligo Rowing Club and has notched up a number of fine wins in recent weeks.
On Saturday last Thomas took part in the Athlone Boat Club Regatta at Coosan Point and won the Men’s J-16 single skulls.
Along with his colleague Finn Reid, they also won the double skulls at the event.
A week earlier, the Sligo Rowers were in action in Blessington where Thomas and three other rowers won the Men’s J18b quad.
Thomas is not the only member of his family who are having success on the water.
His younger brother Conor has coxed the Sligo girls J-15 to victory in Athlone, Galway, Blessington and Lough Rynn and also coxed his brother in the J18b quad final.
Next up is the National Championship in Cork in three weeks time and all in Boyle wish Thomas and Conor every success at that event.
