The organising committee of the “2025 Boyle Christmas Lights” are making a call out to the entire community of Boyle to take ownership and light up Boyle this year.
According to the committee: “Our message is simple: Organise a fundraiser. Support the cause.
Are you a pub owner?
Are you a member of a club?
Are you in a band?
Are you working in an office?
Are you involved with a charity?
Are you a business owner?
Are you working in a supermarket/shop?
Are you a student?
Are you on a residents association?
Are you working in a school?
Are you a community orientated person?
Could YOU organise: A table quiz, a race, a swim, a golf scramble, a football tournament, a 5-aside match, a tennis tournament, a darts competition, a pool competition, a bake sale, a Christmas jumper day, a concert or any other type of fundraiser in aid of lighting up Boyle for Christmas?
The challenges we face this year:
Several sets of lights have been damaged beyond repair by the storms last year, and others are simply failing due to old age. To light up Boyle this year, we cannot just repair; we need to invest in new, modern, and energy-efficient lights that will serve Boyle for years to come.
Due to health and safety regulations and to ensure everyone’s safety and compliance, the installation must be handled by a qualified and insured professional contractor. We can no longer erect the lights ourselves so we need to include this cost in our fundraising.
This is why we cannot do it alone, we are a handful of local volunteers who need the whole community to get involved. Every quiz night, every donation, every sponsored event directly contributes to creating a safe and spectacular Christmas display for our town that we can all be proud of.
