Locally, Breedogue ARA and Keadue Social Services both received €320.

The grants have been welcomed by local TD and Minister Frank Feighan who said: “The Scheme covers a wide range of groups and organisations across the County, I wish to thank Minister Chambers for the generous allocation for Co Roscommon and I commend the good work done by the other relevant organisations including ‘Age and Opportunity’ and ‘Sport Ireland’ concluded Minister Feighan.

The Age & Opportunity Active National Grant Scheme funding is for sport and physical activity in older age-groups across Ireland including Co Roscommon.

The grants scheme, a combined initiative from Age & Opportunity and Sport Ireland, will distribute €514,120 across 995 groups.
