€6,700 funding for Boyle Summer Show

Fianna Fáil Senator Eugene Murphy has welcomed funding totalling €40,995 for five agricultural shows in Co Roscommon this summer.

Boyle Summer Show, Castlerea Agricultural Show, Elphin Agricultural Show and Roscommon Agricultural Show, all of which are set to take place in August, and Strokestown Show which will happen in September, are set to benefit from Government funding announced today with Boyle Show being awarded €6,700

In total the Government has announced investment of €1 million to support some 122 shows across the country in 2024. Each show will receive a grant of €6,000-€11,000 depending on their size.

Senator Murphy said: “I’m delighted to see five local shows benefiting from the Government’s agricultural show funding for 2024. This funding will allow each committee prepare for their upcoming summer show season.

“Agricultural shows bind local communities and act as a great place for local producers to showcase their wares. They deserve to receive this investment.”

The funding brings the total brings the total allocated to our Agricultural Shows since 2018 to over €4.3 million
