Fundraising commences to install defibrillators in Boyle

There are plans to install a number of additional defibrillators around the Boyle area.
Boyle Defibrillator Group have been informed that Roscommon Rapid Response has secured funding for 6 defibrillators for the Boyle area but 25% of the cost has to be gathered from the Community.
It is also proposed to install heated defibrillator cabinets at Abbey Community College and Boyle Celtic grounds.
The group has recently set up a Facebook page where further information on their plans can be found.

A defibrillator is a device used to deliver an electrical shock to the heart, typically in cases of cardiac arrest, to restore a normal heartbeat. It can be used to treat life-threatening heart rhythm problems like ventricular fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia.
