Further details provided on N4 junction upgrades

Deputy Frank Feighan has been informed that negotiations with landowners to acquire the necessary lands for the works at junctions on the N4 at Croghan and Cootehall are at an advanced stage.

In response to a parliamentary question, Dreputy Feighan was informed as follows:

“The design and implementation of the proposed safety improvement works at the junctions are being progressed by Roscommon County Council, which is the road authority for the area. Funding for the scheme has been provided to the Council this year by Transport Infrastructure Ireland and I understand that the Council’s negotiations with landowners to acquire necessary lands for the works are at an advanced stage”.

In December 2018, Transport Infrastructure Ireland agreed to fund the provision of right hand lanes at both the Cootehall and Croghan junctions on the N4 between Boyle and Carrick-on-Shannon.
