The death has occurred of Kate Filan, (nee McDermott), Old Town, Ballinameen, Boyle, Co. Roscommon. September 8th 2021 (peacefully) in her 102nd year, surrounded by her loving family at Sligo University Hospital.
Predeceased by her husband John William, sisters and brother. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving daughters Breedge Simon (Boyle), Bernadette McKeon (Grangemore, Boyle), sons Padraig (Ballinameen) and John (Boyle), daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother Bernard (Dublin), nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Kate’s Funeral cortege will leave her residence on Saturday at 1.30 o’clock to arrive at St. Attracta’s Church, Ballinameen for Mass of Christian Burial at 2 o’clock with funeral afterwards to Caldra Cemetery.
Given the current exceptional circumstances and HSE guidelines Kate’s home, Funeral Mass and burial will be private to family only, limited to 50 persons in the church while also requesting strict adherence to social distancing in the vicinity of the church grounds and cemetery. Those who would have liked to attend but are unable to due to current Covid 19 restrictions may like to leave a personal message to Kate’s Family in the Condolence section below.
