Local lads to complete 160k run for Pieta House this weekend

Corrigeenroe man Adam Simon and his friend Barry Potter are completing a 160km run in aid of Pieta House commencing this Saturday 7th of March.

They begin the run at 12pm on Saturday from Lough Key Forest Park and will follow a route around Lough Key twice from Boyle to Ballinafad, Corrigeenroe, Cootehall, Leitrim village, Carrick and back to Boyle with the 2nd loop incorporating a bigger circuit to Carrick, Frenchpark and back to Lough Key Forest Park.

Adam and Barry are hoping to complete the run in under 24 hours. They have been doing some serious miles over the last number of months in preparation and any support you can give to this great cause will be very much appreciated

According to the lads: “Our aim is hopefully to get under 22 hours with a finish time of 10am Sunday morning but we just hope to complete it with as many toenails as possible!

Pieta House, for anyone who is not aware is an incredible charity that provides free, lifesaving support for people in suicidal distress, those engaging in self-harm, and anyone struggling with their mental health. We will be continuing to post more about it and closer to the day the map route and little checkpoints we will have if you want to give us some support, jaffa cakes or even jump in for a couple kilometres.

If you could take a few minutes when you have the time to donate here and share this with your friends, family, work or repost to your page , it would greatly appreciated.
