Major active travel fuding allocated to this area

Co. Roscommon is set to receive €1.89 million in Greenway and active travel funding.
The biggest allocation is €500,000 towards the “Lough Key to Carrick on Shannon” Greenway.
The Lough Key Greenway Project is currently in Phase 2 Options Selection. This project intends to provide high-quality greenway links between Lough Key and Carrick-on-Shannon with a potential connection to Boyle.
Separately, Scoil na nAingeal Naofa in Boyle is to receive €90,000 to provide infrastructure to highlight the presence of the school and reduce speed at the front of the school.
€5,000 has been allocated to St. Patrick’s and St. Michaels national school in Cootehall and €78,000 to St. Patrick’s NS, Ballyfarnon for a similar purpose.
