Boyle were runners up in Category 4 at Saturday night’s Pride of Place awards which was held in Kilkenny.
Over 850 guests sat down to a gala meal and awards ceremony in Lyrath Estate overseen by the hotel’s Banqueting Manager Gavin Ward from Ballinameen.
The overall winner was Whiteabbey in County Antrim with Boyle sharing the runner up position with Knock in Co. Mayo.
The Boyle Pride of Place committee was established following the nomination of Boyle Town Team by Roscommon County Council for the competition with Town Team Chairman Brian Nerney accepting the award on the night.
Pride of Place is a prestigious all-island competition and recognises the vast wealth of community contribution to the local society and the creation of civic pride.
