All eight Boyle cyclists finished stage 1 today of the Coast to Coast challenge.
After been bitten alive by midges at Keem Bay, the riders quickly departed the most westerly point at 8.30am, arriving back in Boyle at 3.30pm Saturday.
The forecasted sun never showed it’s face with dull and on occasion wet weather to contend with on the journey.
The wind was favourable and no major injuries will hopefully see eight cyclist on the Crescent at 6.30am Sunday for the 180k stage 2 of the challenge to Skerries in North County Dublin.
