Tickets still available for Sunday’s ‘Picnic in the Courtyard’

Celebrate the arrival of the long bright summer evenings and the return of live music this Sunday with family and friends in the grounds of King House for the ‘Picnic in the Courtyard’.

You are invited to bring your picnic comforts and relax in the atmospheric surroundings of King House Courtyard, where food will be available to purchase on site thanks to local businesses Lovage, The Bazaar and Packs BBQ.

This promises to be a really special evening!

TRADALAC

Sean Regan, John Mc Loughlin, Alan Connor and special guest Éamonn De Barra.

Sean Regan is one of Ireland’s most renowned and sought after fiddle players based in Co. Roscommon has recorded and toured with some of Ireland’s top artists including Sharon Shannon, Finbar Furey, Damien Dempsey, Sean Keane, Lisa Lambe and many more. He will be performing for the first time at this event with the newly formed group Tradalac featuring two other major heavyweights in Irish music John Mc Loughlin (Guitars, Vocals) and Alan Connor (Guitar, Keyboard, Percussion, Vocal) with very special guest Éamonn De Barra (Whistle, Flute, Bódhran, Vocal). The group will debut their eclectic blend, a new sound, strongly influenced by the rich traditions of Irish music but also combining all the musical styles they love into one powerful new sound. From beautiful rich melodies through to reggae and rock. It has it all.

Cathal Roche is a saxophonist based in the North-West, who together with his five-piece jazz band presents Postcards from Duke – Ellington in Harlem and the Far East.

This event is funded by Roscommon County Council and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media under the Local Live Performance Programming Scheme. It is a proud partnership between Discover Boyle and King House.
