Boyle not included in new rail service

Irish Rail have confirmed that once again an additional train will operate from Carrick-on-Shannon to Dublin this Sunday evening 2nd.

The train will not service Boyle.

The company say the train is “to cater for an increased demand on our services” from Carrick.

This is the second week an additional train has operated from the Leitrim town and if it is a success it may become permanent.

With free parking also available at Carrick station, there are fears locally that not having Boyle included in the additional service will result in commuters not using Boyle station with a resultant negative impact on passenger numbers.
