Santa to switch on Christmas lights

Santa will arrive in Boyle on Saturday afternoon at 4.30pm to officially switch on the Boyle Christmas Lights.

He will arrive on his new sleigh and will stop to talk to as many children as possible along the way.

Santa will be assisted by Freya Smith, Scoil na nAingeal Naofa, Mark Halligan of Grange National School, Patrick Jacobs of Boyle Parochial School, Rosie McGreevy of Croghan NS and Conor Caslin of St Josephs Boys School.

The five students were winners of a recent colouring competition organised by Boyle Chamber of Commerce and Boyle Christmas Lights Committee.

In addition to the Christmas Lights, this year Boyle has a magnificent Christmas Tree located on the plaza area in front of the Courthouse.

The lights on the Ardcarne Garden Centre sponsored tree will also be switched on and Boyle Scouts will give out free hot chocolate.

Everyone is invited to come along to what promises to be a great family evening out in Boyle.
