Cannonball to overnight in Sligo on Saturday

The annual Cannonball Super Car Run will overnight in Sligo on Saturday September 13th.

Previously, the Cannonball Run and Retro Cannonball stopped off in Kilronan Castle attracting large audiences who were eager to see the 200 participating cars. This year, the closest the super cars will come to Roscommon is on the N17 into Collooney and onto the N4 to the finish on O’Connell Street in Sligo on Saturday at 6pm

This year, the event starts from Johnstown Estate in Enfield, Co. Meath, on the morning of September 12th. The cars will journey across the country in true Cannonball style, finishing the first day in Kerry for an overnight stay.

Day 2 begins with a departure from Kerry as they head toward Sligo for the second finish line and overnight stop.

On Day 3, they will leave Sligo in the morning and make their way to Naas, Co. Kildare, for the Grand Finale finish.

Cannonball was established in 2008 and it is the largest organised road trip in Europe with 200 of the finest cars on the planet, 3 action packed days of adrenaline-fueled adventure, unimaginable days and unforgettable nights, free family festivals in each host town, €2,024,809 raised for Irish children’s charities to date, a media value of over €10 million, 850KM of Irish open roads, Brazilian dancers, live music, air displays and the awesome sight of almost 300,000 spectators waving chequered flags in a frenzy of anticipation.
