Friday September 23rd is Culture Night and there are a number of events planned for Boyle to mark the occasion:
4-5pm – Children’s Workshop Boyle Civic Art Collection with Naomi Draper – King House
4-8pm – Late opening of King House, tours of the house and art collection
6-7pm – Boyle Sculpture Trail Meet the artists – Pleasure Grounds
6pm – Roscommon Co Youth Orchestra – King House
6pm – SLR Film Short Screenings – Studio Eleven, River Walkway
8pm – Dotts O’Connor and guests musical performance – King House
In Cootehall, there will be an exhibition by artist Malachy Costello and late opening of the John McGahern Barracks from 4pm – 9pm, while in Frenchpark Dr Maire Nic An Baird will give a lecture titled “The Impact of County Roscommon on Ireland’s First President” with music by local Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann in the Douglas Hyde Centre in Portahard commencing at 7pm.
