COMMITTEE CUP – This years Committee Cup was played for on the weekend of 10th and 11th May. The format was utsisal 18 hole Strokeplay with a 9 hole play off on the Sunday evening. The overall winner was Jim Callery who had a superb 55 nett after the first 18, thus going into the playoff with an almost unbeatable 6 shot lead. Despite some remarkable golf being played by others in the 3rd 9, Jim came through as this years winner and received his prize in a presentation in the clubhouse after the conclusion of the play off. Some of the other notable scores of the day included Lochlainn Conboy having 5 birdies in the 3rd 9 and complete newcomer Gerry Rogers managing to play his way in to 2nd place overall. 3rd Paddy McLoughlin, Best Gross Lochlainn Conboy, 18 nett Charlie O’Donnell.
MAY BANK HOLIDAY RUMBLE – The 3 Person Rumble was won by the team of Pat Conroy, Michael McHale and Pat Brogan with 88 points.2nd were Frank Casserly, Tim Hestor, Michael Simon with 84 pts and 3rd went to Jonathan Egan, Charlie O’Donnell and Karl Keenan with 81.
The Men’s 9 hole played on Thursday played on 8/5 had an unusual outcome with the top 5 placed players all having 17 points. Enda Smith won on countback, Niall O’Donohoe 2nd and Jim Callery 3rd.
FIXTURES – Next weekends Men’s Competition is an 18 hole Stableford and the following weekend the Bart Moran Cup will be played for.
