PRESIDENTS PRIZE – This years Presidents Prize takes place next weekend. It is a historic one in that we have a female President of the overall club for the first time, Regina McLoughlin. We moved from having separate Men and Lady Presidents 3 years ago ago to having a single club President and Regina is the first lady to take this new role. Both the Presidents Prizes to the Men and Ladies will take place on the same weekend and with presentation of prizes immediately after the conclusion of the 9 Hole playoff of the mens’ competition on the Sunday evening.
RESULTS – Well done to 2 men who only got their first ever handicaps in the last few weeks and have managed to land themselves amongst the prizewinners in recent competitions.
In the Men’s 18 Hole Stroke, veteran Jim Callery was the overall winner with a nett 66. Newcomer Noel McKeown playing in his first ever 18 hole competition ( and a Strokeplay one at that) came 2nd with a 68. Michael Simon won the Gross and Pat Conroy came 3rd.
In the men’s Thursday 12 Hole competition played on 28/5/26, the outright winner was our other newcomer, Brendan Duggan with a very solid 25 points. Pat Conroy had 22 and 3rd place went to Jack Sheridan also with 22.
