RESULTS– 18 Hole Stableford 2/10/25 – 1st Michael McHale 39 points, 2nd Gerry Carty 38, 3rd Lorcan Egan 37.
AGM DATES – The Men’s Club AGM will be on Sunday 16th November. The Ladies Club will release their AGM date soon. The overall club AGM will be held on Sunday 7th of December. All members are encouraged to attend their relevant AGMs. All meetings will be held at 5pm in the clubhouse on the indicated dates.
CONDOLENCES – The club wishes to pass on their condolences onto the families of 2 former members who died in recent weeks, Ted Hester and Carmel Corcoran, and also to our greenkeeper Charlie Beirne on the death of his brother Brian.
Carmel had retired from the game of golf a number of years ago but is still fondly remembered for her good humoured and positive nature within the club, especially by the Ladies club where she was an active participant for many years.
Ted Hester was a very keen golfer for decades and was still playing in competitions in his 90th year. Whenever Teds name is mentioned in golf circles, conversation usually turns to the Shepherds Crook Golf Society which was named after Teds former pub in Elphin. The “Crooks” always prided themselves on the social element in their outings, which Ted both fully approved of and participated in! Our sincere condolences to the Hester family but most especially to our members, Ted’s son Tim Hester and also Ted’s grandson Lewis Shaw.
