Boyle man Chris O’ Dowd wins BAFTA award

Congratulations to Boyle native actor Chris O’Dowd who won a BAFTA Children & Young People Award on Sunday night.

The awards ceremony took place at the Old Billingsgate in London and was hosted by TV and radio presenter Lindsey Russell.

Chris won his award in the ‘Performer’ category for ‘Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth’.

Chris acknowledged his win on Twitter on Sunday night saying: “Just stumbled upon the loveliest tweet (referring to the award)! Thanks folks!”

The awards were a celebration of the incredible breadth and creativity of UK and international programming for children and young people spanning film, games and television as well as the next generation of change-makers and innovators through its Content for Change category.
