Low unemployment levels in Boyle

The number of people claiming unemployment assistance in Boyle in December 2016 was 77 less than the same period in 2015 and one of the lowest of the main towns in Co. Roscommon.

In December 2016 there were 748 people on the live register in this area compared to 825 in December 2015.

Of the 748 registered, 414 were male and 334 were female

95 were under the age of 25.

There were 2,927 people unemployed in County Roscommon in December.

Figures for Castlerea show there were 1,300 claimants in December with 869 in Roscommon, and 1,816 in Carrick on Shannon.
