Boyle has one of the lowest rates of unemployment in the county with the number of people claiming assistance in the Boyle area falling once again.

The October 2015 figure of 819 is made up of 454 males and 365 females.
Of the 819, there were 107 people under 25 years of age and 712 over 25.
For comparative purposes, the October 2015 figures show there were 2033 unemployed in Carrick-on-Shannon, 1403 in Castlerea and 1002 in Roscommon town.
