Court finds Manager not guilty
A post office retail manager accused of tampering with a urine sample in a drink-driving case has been found not guilty of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Kevin Rogers, 50, of Mote Park, Roscommon denied a single charge of carrying out an act tending or intended to pervert the course of justice by interfering or tampering with potential evidence – a urine sample-posted by a Garda to the Medical Bureau of Road Safety on 5 March 2012.
It was alleged Mr Rogers microwaved the urine sample in the Post Office canteen
The jury, sitting at Roscommon Circuit Criminal Court took three hours to return their majority verdict of not guilty
