Emigration from Boyle in 1840’s

Today in Boyle Library, as part of Heritage Week,  hear a story of emigration from Boyle with a happy ending!

Vincent Delaney will tell the story of his grand uncle Thomas Higgins, born near Boyle in the 1840’s who emigrated to the United States and in later years wrote down recollections of his life.

The event will be taking place in the Library on Tuesday 22nd August at 6.30 pm until 7.30 pm.

Boyle Library are also hosting an exhibition of letters and images relating to Thomas Higgins and his amazing life.

This exhibition runs until 26th August.
