Four gold medals for Boyle’s Daniel

Boyle man Daniel O’Flaherty recorded a personal tally of  3 gold, 1 silver and a Gold Grand Master medal at the recent Phoenix Meeting target shooting competition in Bisley.

The competition is one of the biggest target shooting competitions in the world. It was held in Bisley Shooting Ground outside London which is one of the largest shooting facilities in the world.

Run over three days, the competition consisted of three days of individual competitions where 540 competitors shot 4200 score cards across events in Smallbore and Centrefire Gallery Rifle and Target Shotgun.

The thirty strong Irish contingent brought home over 40 individual medals with Daniel winning 3 gold, 1 silver and a Gold Grand Master medal.

The team events wasn’t as successful but Team Ireland came away with silver in Smallbore Gallery Rifle, Bronze in Centrefire Gallery Rifle and Silver in Target Shotgun
