There are a large number of St. Patrick’s Day Parades taking place in the general area today Friday March 17th. Below is a list of some of those parades:
12 noon – Sligo
12.45pm – Carrick-on-Shannon
2.30pm – Ballaghaderreen
2.30pm – Elphin
3pm – Arigna
3pm – Ballintubber
3.30pm – Boyle
3.30pm – Ballymote
4.15pm – Gurteen
The Boyle St. Patrick’s Day Parade commences at 3.30pm. According to the organisers: “The float entries will showcase all the local sporting and community organisations that help make Boyle a great town to live in”.
“The Parade will follow the same route as usual starting at Carty ‘s Garage, down St. Patrick’s Street, across the Bridge and up the Crescent with walking groups passing the reviewing stand by the town clock towards St Joseph’s Hall and all vehicles/floats will continue up Elphin St to finish the parade”.
“We ask that all floats/vehicles entering the parade proceed via Assylinn road and turn up on the Mockmoyne road and all walking groups assembly at Carty’s Garage for 2.45pm”.
“Before and after the Parade we will have loads of music provided by students from Music Generation & DJ Rob on the reviewing stand at the Crescent”.
“There will be prizes for best face painting, best costume etc and a balloon party to enjoy in this area”.
“There will be also be face painting provided in St Joseph’s Hall before the Parade so please come along and join in this fun, social event”.
