Funding announced for restoration of Kingston Hall

Kingston Hall in Rockingham, Boyle has been awarded €300,000 in Just Transition funding.
The funding will go towards the design and planning for the full restoration and adaptive reuse of the Hall and its grounds for accommodation purposes.
Five other tourism projects in County Roscommon were also awarded funding. They include:
Gleesons Town House Roscommon – €189,750 for the provision of accessible bedrooms with bathrooms, enhancing pathways, installing automatic doors and creating accessible dining areas.
Clonalis House- €10,000 for the installation of interpretative signage.
Grange Lodge, Strokestown – €146,573 for an enhanced visitor experience through the addition of kayaks with storage, electric and regular bikes, aluminium fishing boats, and an ATV for equipment transport.
Abbey Hotel Roscommon – €53,480 for accessible bedroom conversion and toilet upgrades.
The announcements have been welcomed by Deputy Martin Daly and also Deputy Frank Feighan who said in a statement:“ I want to warmly welcome the funding of €300,000 to Kingston Hall, Rockingham, Boyle. This is the single largest allocation out of the Co Roscommon funding and demonstrates that this is a very important and strategic project providing much needed quality tourism accommodation for the Boyle/Forest Park area. I was delighted to have played a small role in ensuring projects in the North Roscommon area benefited from the Just Transition Fund under the tourism funding programme which will help enhance the tourism product of the North Roscommon Region”, concluded Deputy Feighan.
A total of €700,00 has been awarded to the five Roscommon projects under the EU Just Transition Fund – Private and Community SME Scheme.
