Post mortem results awaited following discovery of two bodies

Gardai are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination before deciding the the course of their enquiries following the discovery of a body in the Costello Chapel in Carrick on Shannon town centre yesterday morning (Monday).

The body of a male in his twenties was discovered shortly after 8.30am.

Emergency services were called to the scene but Gardai are now of the opinion that the death is not suspicious and may be a personal tragedy.

The identity of the person has not been made public.

Meanwhile in Sligo, a post-mortem is also being conducted on the body of a male in his thirties who was discovered in an apartment complex on Clarion Road in the town also on Monday.

Gardai were called to the scene when the body was discovered on Monday in what is being described as a ‘sudden death’.
