Farming, faith, music, food and conversation will come together in Boyle on Sunday October 18th for a special Harvest Celebration hosted by the Church of Ireland Agricultural Chaplaincy for the Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh Diocese.
The Agricultural Chaplaincy aims to be alongside people involved in farming and rural life, offering a listening ear, companionship and practical support within the communities where people live and work. It is open to everyone, whether or not they regularly attend church.
Beginning at 4.00pm, the Harvest Celebration will be a Songs of Praise-style celebration of harvest, farming and rural community, with music and singing, stories and reflections, food and conversation.
A panel discussion will bring together a range of voices from farming and rural life, with John O’Hanlon, Thomas Duffy, Sophie Bell, Adam Woods and Patrick Donohoe taking part. The discussion will provide an opportunity to hear different perspectives on farming, rural communities and the realities of life and work in agriculture today.
The celebration is also an opportunity to give thanks for the harvest and to recognise the people, families and communities behind it. The Agricultural Chaplaincy hopes that the event will bring together farmers, agricultural organisations, local people and the wider community for an evening of celebration and connection.
Everyone is warmly invited to attend, bring the family and join us for an evening of music, food, stories, thanksgiving and celebration.
You do not need to be a regular churchgoer to attend.
