Local dancers represent Ireland at the Dance World Cup in Dublin

Dancers from Counties Roscommon, Sligo and Leitrim, including a number from Boyle, travelled to Dublin on Wednesday last to compete in the Dance World Cup 2026, taking place for the very first time in Ireland at the Convention Centre Dublin.
So far, the local dancers have proudly represented Team Ireland in tap, jazz, ballet and commercial street dance. At present, Ireland is ranked 5th in the world out of 60 competing countries, with several days of competition still to go.
The dancers will return to Dublin later this week to compete in lyrical group, contemporary group and showstopper categories.
The Dance World Cup has brought over 11,500 dancers from around the world to Ireland, with competitors aged 4 to 24 taking part in the world’s largest international dance competition.
Victoria Walker Dance is incredibly proud to be part of this amazing event. Victoria said, “I couldn’t be prouder of our students. Watching them perform on a world stage, representing their country with such talent, dedication and confidence, is an incredible achievement. Whatever the results, they have already made us immensely proud.”
We wish all of Team Ireland the very best of luck for the remaining days of competition!
