A man is due to appear in court at a later date following a major public order disturbance in Boyle last Saturday night.
At approximately 10.30pm Boyle Gardai received a report of a disturbance on Bridge Street in the town.
A number of members of An Garda Siochana from Boyle station responded.
After assessing the situation, they called for back up and members from Castlerea and Carrick on Shannon stations arrived on the scene.
The disturbance, which involved a number of people, was brought under control and one man, who is not from the area, was arrested.
He was brought to Castlerea Garda Station and will appear before a local court sitting in the coming weeks.
