Man charged following theft from Boyle garages

Gardai in Boyle received a report of the theft of motor accessories from a garage in Boyle town on Saturday August 29th.

During the investigation it was discovered that a second garage in Boyle town had fallen victim to the same suspect with similar items stolen. Enquiries were carried out and CCTV canvassed locally. As a result, the investigating Gardai identified a suspect and a warrant was obtained at a special sitting of Carrick on Shannon District court on Sunday August 30th.

On that same date, a property was searched in the Ballaghadereen area and motor accessories with a value in excess of €2,500 were seized along with a motor vehicle. A male in his mid-20’s was arrested and detained at Castlerea Garda station. He was later charged in connection with the thefts and is due to appear at Carrick on Shannon District court on 15/9/20.
