Mass suspended in Elphin Diocese

The Bishop of Elphin Kevin Doran has issued a pastoral message regarding Covid-19.

In the message, Bishop Doran has said the public celebration of Mass in the Diocese (with the exception of Funeral Mass and the Celebration of Marriage) is suspended until and including Sunday 29th March, with immediate effect.

“The celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation is suspended for the time being and First Penance celebrations should be suspended until after Easter”.

“We have, for the moment, not considered suspending First Communion, because, in most cases, this is still over a month away” according to Bishop Doran.

Baptism, funerals and marriages will still be allowed but with restrictions.
