R284 reopens following serious RTC

Traffic diversions were in place Wednesday following a serious two car road traffic collision at Derrenargon Cross near Drumboylan.

As a result the R284 between Leitrim Village and Keadue was closed for a period of time.

The local Drumshanbo/Dereenargan and Cleen/Dereenargan roads was also closed.

Emergency services including the Fire Service, Boyle Gardai and the air ambulance were in attendance.

A female driver was airlifted by air ambulance to University Hospital Galway, landing shortly after at 12. 50pm after leaving the scene.
