Roscommon delegation visit NYC

A delegation from Roscommon is visiting the United States of America for St. Patrick’s Day.

Cathaoirleach Councillor Ivan Connaughton and Director of Services Martin Lydon are in New York where they will attend a number of events over the weekend.

Following a meeting on Thursday with IDA Ireland and Tourism Ireland, the delegation will attend the St Patrick’s Season Reception on Friday at the offices of the Consulate General.

On Saturday they will attend Mass in St. Patrick’s Cathedral before marching under the Roscommon Association banner in the New York parade.

The council say the visit to New York will encourage investment and market the county as a tourism and heritage destination for Roscommon diaspora living in the USA.
