County paid €3.9m in property tax

Householders in county Roscommon paid €3.9m in local property tax in 2017.

That’s according to figures released this week by Revenue.

98.7% of all Roscommon homes paid the tax.

This compares to 95.6% in Leitrim and 97.4% in Sligo.

The 34.6%majority of houses in county Roscommon fall into €0-€100,000 band (56.7%), €100,001 – €150,000 (34.6%), €150,001 – €200,000 (6.3%), €200,001 – €250,000 (1.4%), €250,001 to €300,00 (0.4%) and over €300,000 (0.6%).

Local Property Tax (LPT) applies to all residential properties in the State. The tax came into effect in 2013 and is collected by the Revenue Commissioners.
