Results
Two first half goals did the trick as our Wynne’s Bar sponsored men’s first team began their Premier Division campaign with a 2-0 win triumph over Moore United on Sunday.
In what was an all round brilliant team performance, Celtic made a fast start and scored inside the opening ten minutes.
Shane Carroll set off on a trademark run down the wing and squared it across to the onrushing Mick Corrigan, who finished with a left-footed effort.
The home side continued their dominance with debutante Conor Maher finding Callum Andrews, who just couldn’t find the target after 14 minutes.
Andrews turned povider two minutes later as he searched for Conor Calpin with the ball just evading the latter in what was another brilliant piece of play.
On 28 minutes, Corrigan was inches away from his and Celtic’s second but was thwarted brilliantly by the opposition keeper.
Goal number eventually arrived on 34 minutes.
Calpin capped off a superb first half display finishing off a flowing Celtic move from back to front with a sweet strike.
There was little to report in the second half.
Celtic had a penalty shout but their appeals fell on deaf ears.
Moore pushed and press hard for at least one back but Lochlainnn Conboy’s side held firm to ensure all three points.
