A woman is to appear before a special sitting of Carrick on Shannon district court today following an incident in the Knockvicar area yesterday evening at approximately 4.20pm.
The woman was allegedly being treated by ambulance personnel and when not deemed to need hospital care, allegedly became uncooperative.
Gardai were called and the woman is alleged to have kicked and spat at a female Garda member.
She was arrested at the scene and detained overnight at Castlerea Garda Station to appear at today’s special court sitting charged with two counts of assault.
It is understood the Garda member concerned is currently off duty and will undergo a Covid-19 test.
